If Joe Satriani sort of forgot how to play guitar, discovered a passionate love for drum machines and synthesizers, and formed a band with the entire cast of Miami Vice to write love songs to Lamborghinis, the result would probably sound just a bit like Max Power.

Dayglow Overdrive is a machine that turns nostalgia for the best parts of a childhood lived in the '80s into completely self-indulgent music that aims to take those moments you remember from your favorite songs and stretch them into full-length tracks, despite knowing better.

Max Power is the culmination of just over three years of off-and-on work toward representing the more guitar-driven side of the retrowave / synthwave / outrun movements. Inspired by the broader pop culture of the '80s, from TV, music, and movies to the cyberpunk novels of William Gibson, the outrun aesthetic, and personal experiences, Max Power is a journey through what can only be described as an overactive imagination.

I've had a hell of a lot of fun making this album, and I hope you enjoy it.
